OVERVIEW
Rak Leisure LLC in partnership with Absolute Adventure are pleased to present a variety of treks on Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah’s adventure playground. Whether you are a seasoned trekker or new to the outdoors, we have something to offer everyone who wants to explorer Jebel Jais safely, and escape for a half day or full day experience.
Only a 2-hour drive from Dubai, Jebel Jais feels far removed from the hustle and bustle of the City. Nestled amongst the Hajar Mountains and home to the highest point in the UAE, Jebel Jais is full of varying landscapes such as undulating wadi’s shaped by flood waters, epic boulder fields to abandoned villages, goat farms and palm tree scattered wheat fields.
Our treks are designed to cater for various abilities from absolute beginners following waymarked paths to remote full day activities passing through villages high up on mountain plateaus with exposed outcrops. All our offerings are led by fully trained outdoor professionals with outdoor first aid qualifications, and our routes are comprehensively risk assessed. A professional guided treks will give you peace of mind and leave you to enjoy your experience whilst we take care of the logistics and allow you to safely access amazing trekking itineraries to the most scenic destinations.
LOCATION
The meeting point for all of our treks is Bear Grylls Explorers Camp, located in Wadi Lhasa, where there is parking and toilet facilities. We are located half way up Jebel Jais, and can be found on Google Maps and Waze by searching ‘Bear Grylls Explorers Camp’. A 4x4 is not needed to access our camp. When you arrive, just drive down the track slowly and park towards the back where you will see a number of shipping containers.
LEVELS
Our treks are categorised into ability levels, allowing you to select the most appropriate route for you and your party’s ability and fitness. These levels are described in detail under each individual trek. Our levels along with the general hike description will give you a thorough itinerary of each trek, giving you confidence when choosing your activity.
